Here at Well Equine Parasitology Laboratory we offer one test, and that is the equine fecal egg count.   By focusing on the the fecal egg count specifically, we are able to provide accurate results quickly, and offer the best pricing in Lexington, KY.

Local farms submitting 25 or greater fecal egg counts at one time qualify for free scheduled pickup of fecal specimens, and a guaranteed 2 day turn around time.

Fecal egg counts at Well Equine are performed using the Modified Wisconsin Sugar Flotation Method.  This commonly used and highly trusted technique will provide you with accurate, quantified results.  Strongyles and ascarids will be quantified if seen, up to >500EPG.  Other parasite ova will be quantified including tapeworms, Eimeria leuckarti, and strongyloides westeri.

Performing routine fecal egg counts on your herd will ensure that you are aware of what types of parasites your horses have and which horses in your herd are the high shedders who may need additional treatment.  It will also enable you to test your dewormer's efficacy, and detect any resistant parasites that may be present
